Chronic illness and intimacy

It is not uncommon for chronic illness to take a toll on one's sex life. Between things like medication side effects, physical discomfort, and physical inability, many people find it challenging to navigate their own intimate needs and sexual well being. But that is no reason to deprive oneself of pleasurable and fulfilling intimacy, whether or not that includes sex. It is possible to make intimacy and chronic illness work together. This page includes resources on how chronic illness can impact someone's ability to navigate sex and and what non-sexual activities one can do to express intimacy when sex isn't on the table.
